His Girl[Hyunjin X Reader Mafia Gang ff]
  • Chapter 16
  • Y/n pov.
  • “Should we go out to check what they are trying to do?” I whispered to Hyunjin.
  • Click clack click clack. Seems like there is more than one person.
  • “Okay, on the count of three.” He whispered back.
  • I felt adrenaline rushing through my veins as my heart thumped wildly against my rib cage.
  • “Three… two… one.” Just as I finished counting, we both burst out of the room and ran outside.
  • “Stop whatever you are doing!” Hyunjin hollered. Due to the darkness, we could only make out two silhouettes. I threw a dagger at them but one side stepped and missed it while the other got sliced by the arm. Hyunjin grabbed my wrist and yanked me behind him.
  • “Oi, I’m not a kid that you need to protect.” I hissed at the brunette.
  • “You want to die or what? They are armed. With this attitude of yours, you are surely gonna get killed.” Hyunjin replied.
  • “Ohhh! Jay Why Pee's visual minion is here~ Seems like it's our cue to leave. See you soon, Y/n dear.” The two intruders snickered at us mockingly before flipping off the window ledge, into the darkness. We both sprinted to the balcony to get a better view.
  • “I thought you said she was alone?” We heard one of them ask. They came for me. I sucked a shaky breath.
  • “How would I know that the Hwang boy would be with her? Boss said that V saw her leave the club alone and she wasn’t with Itzy. Now, shut the * up and let's leave before they find out.” The other snapped. They both climbed into a van and speeded away. I clicked multiple photos of the van, hoping that the car plate would be visible.
  • “Let’s go back.” Hyunjin sighed. We both went back to his room. “Any luck with the pictures?” He asked, propping his head on my shoulder, his soft, dark hair tickling my neck. I zoomed in on the pictures. The car plate was blurry but was still readable.
  • “I still don’t get it, how do they break through all that security and stuff?” Hyunjin murmured to himself, eyebrows furrowed. “Let me text Chan hyung.” He decided.
  • “Hyunjinnie, I actually recorded the whole thing. I thought part of the conversation might be quite useful.” I said.
  • “Smart.” He hummed while texting Chan about the situation.
  • “I know I am.” I flicked my hair dramatically.
  • “And is that a new nickname?” He smirked, his attention now on me. Hyunjinnie? Oh. I guess it slipped from my mouth.
  • “Sorry.” I mumbled, tearing my gaze away from his ethereal face.
  • “Actually I kind of like it. I love the way my name rolls off your tongue~” He flirts. I looked back at him, jumping when his face was suddenly close to mine. Way too close.
  • “Yah, can you actually be serious? How are you not worried about someone being able to break through this crazy security *?” I felt my face heat up as I leaned my back against his bookshelf. A yawn escaped my mouth shortly after. I am so tired from the events today that I can now barely keep my eyes open.
  • “Well, looks like someone needs her beauty sleep.” He smiled.
  • “Yep.” I stood up from his floor mat and headed to my room. When I turned to close the door, I notice Hyunjin right behind me. “Bro, do you usually scare people like this? What are you even doing here?” I raised my eyebrow.
  • “I’ll help you switch off the lights. Just go and sleep.” Hyunjin offered.
  • “Thanks, I guess.” I replied before dropping myself onto my bed. As soon as my head hit the pillow, I started to doze off.
  • “Goodnight, y/n.” I heard a honey-like voice as warm air caressed my cheek. I felt a pair of plum lips on my forehead—which was most likely my imagination, before I drifted off to sleep without knowing what horror there was ahead, waiting for me in my dreams.
  • Y/n's dream
  • There was mist everywhere. Where am I? I tried to walk out of the mist, but found myself going deeper and deeper into the lilac mist. I could barely see anything.
  • “Y/n, my sweetheart. How are you doing? I have not seen you in a long time.” A melodious female voice with an Australian accent called out. The voice I longed to hear.
  • “Unnie?” I whipped around. For sure, Chaeyoung was standing right in front of me, in her periwinkle coloured dress and her usual pretty waist-length silver hair. As elegant as I remembered.
  • “You have surely grown and became a beautiful young woman. Sorry for not being there watching you grow up.” Unnie sighed. “I’m here to warn you.” She continued. My heart dropped.
  • “There are some things that happen to people that no one can understand. Perhaps it's a glimmer of hope or a string of fate.” Chaeyoung smiled sadly. Confusion clouded my mind.
  • “Chae… what do you exactly mean? I’m so done with your riddles you left behind for me to solve.” I have so many questions that are not answered. So many questions.
  • “I-I can’t tell you. You have to find it out yourself.” Chaeyoung replied.
  • “Unnie…” I pleaded.
  • “I do not have much time left. Farewell is a hard pill to swallow but sometimes it is necessary. Goodbye for now, my cutie pie. Remember, not everyone can be trusted.” These were the last words Chaeyoung said before she vanished into the mist. I lunged forward and tried to grab her but to no avail.
  • “UNNIE! Don’t leave me alone. Please.” I shouted. My eyes welled up with tears, feeling fear and uncertainty swallowing me up. Suddenly, the ground underneath me shook as the mist around me thickened and turned to the colour that was even darker than the night sky.
  • Suddenly, I hear the haunting screams and gunshots again. I felt myself spiraling lower and lower into the darkness as I curled myself into a ball.
  • “Stop! Just stop!” I yelled, my arms moving around frantically, searching for something to grab hold of. Tears flowed freely down my cheeks like a waterfall.
  • “Y/n, you are safe. Breathe.” A soothing voice said, far away. I felt a warm pair of arms pulling me out from the mist. My eyes flew wide open as Hyunjin’s face swam into view. The moonlight illuminated his flawless pale skin. His bright brown eyes were full of worry.
  • “H-hyunjin.” I stuttered out. He pulled me onto his lap, making my legs wrap around his slim waist.
  • “Shhh. It’s okay, it’s only a dream.” He traced different patterns on my back, while the other arm circled my waist. But… Why does that dream look so real? Chaeyoung was trying to tell me something.
  • “Just sleep.” Hyunjin whispered, using his thumb to wipe the teardrops off my face as he pulled me closer to him. I pushed all my thoughts to the back of my mind and rested my head against his chest, closing my eyes, feeling comforted by the warmth. Very slowly, I fell asleep again.
